Plan by Ceremony, Not by One Saree
An Indian wedding is several events, and they do not all call for the same weight of silk. Muhurtham and the main ceremony suit bridal pattu or Kanchi bridal with a dense pallu and broad border. Reception still suits bridal-weight weaving, often in a bolder colour. Engagement and daytime functions are more comfortable in soft silk.
What Matters Most in a Bridal Saree
Pallu density is the single biggest visual factor in bridal photographs. Border width frames the drape. Weight matters for comfort – bridal sarees run heavier, often 750-820g.
Colour
Traditional bridal reds and maroons remain the most requested, but royal blue, mustard gold and jewel tones with contrast pallus photograph beautifully.
